Not only food: non -obvious habits that damage glucose levels

We are used to relating blood sugar to what we eat. But the real picture is much more complicated. Glucose is a marker not only nutrition, but also a lifestyle in general. Sometimes harm can be caused by habits that seem quite commonplace.

This is not only important for people with diabetes or pre -Diabet. Blood sugar jumps affect mood, energy, and long -term heart health, vessels, brain. And most importantly - you can not even notice it.

For example, stress. It increases the level of hormones, such as cortisol, which causes the liver to be thrown into the blood more glucose. This is how the body prepares for the fight - but if such tension lasts for weeks, the body begins to suffer.

Or sleep. Chronic lack of sleep reduces insulin sensitivity and causes hormonal failures. Even 5-6 hours a day instead of normal 7-9-and glucose level can be higher than you think. This effect is proven by research: the lack of disasters impairs HBA1C - that is, the average level of sugar in the last 3 months.

Exercise is another surprise. Everyone says sports lowers sugar. And this is true. But if you load yourself too intensively, the same stress hormones can have the opposite effect. Excessive workouts, especially without proper adaptation, can provoke an increase in glucose, not a decrease.

Another thing is dehydration. If you drink little, blood glucose concentration increases simply because water is not enough. The easiest way to check is to look at the color of urine: dark yellow-so you need more water.

What about your favorite "diet" products? Many of them are marked as "no sugar" - but contain other carbohydrates or sweeteners that still increase glucose. It is especially dangerous that these products are perceived as allowed - and we tend to overeat.

There are also less obvious factors: medicines (steroids, hormones, immunosuppressants), sunburn (which provoke inflammation and again - stress hormones), as well as oral hygiene, breakfast, on an empty stomach.

It seems that all this is little things. But it is they that consists of health. If you already have glycemia disorders or just want to understand your body better - do not stop carbohydrates. Look wider. And do not be afraid to consult a doctor or diabetologist - he will help you see the connections that are difficult to catch on your own.

And remember: in the struggle for stable allies sugar more than it seems.
