Non -working loans in Ukraine have dropped to 30%

As of January 1, 2025, the share of non -working loans (NPL) in Ukrainian banks decreased to 30.3%. This is 7.1 percentages less than a year ago. This result was made possible by a number of factors that have positively affected the country's financial stability, in particular due to increasing lending, writing off the debt and improving the economic situation.

According to the results of 2024, the volume of non -working loans decreased by UAH 29.1 billion and amounted to UAH 393.2 billion. One of the main factors in this reduction was the resumption of demand for loans and reducing rates, which allowed banks to increase high quality hryvnia loans. In 2025, the volume of lending in the banking sector increased by 14.8%, which became an important signal for the stability of the economy.

There was also a significant write -off of non -working loans, in particular in the retail sector, where the share of NPL decreased by 8 percentage points, reaching 15.5%. Positive changes are also observed in the corporate sector: the share of NPL in corporate loans has decreased by 5.2 in. n., up to 39%.

The reduction of the share of non -working loans is recorded in all groups of banks. Private banks reduced the share of NPL to 12.6%, banks with foreign capital - to 10.9%, and government banks - up to 43%. However, if you do not consider debts related to the former PrivatBank owners and the old debts of the 2015-2017 economic crisis, the share of non -working loans from state banks is 24.8%, and in the general banking system - 18.6%, which is the lowest level since October 2022.

The situation analysis shows that the quality of working loans remains high. The level of hryvnia loans to non -working loans is preserved at the pre -war level, which indicates the stability of the banking system. At the same time, business has no lending problems, and debt load remains moderate, close to the pre -war level. Retail loans make up only 10% annual income of the population, which is also a positive indicator.
