The Netherlands continues to provide large-scale support to Ukraine in the context of the ongoing war with Russia. Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine Alle Dorhout in his interview for "Ukrinform" said that the country has already allocated 3.8 billion euros to Ukraine, and also intends to provide another 6 billion euros in the near future.
The Netherlands actively supports Ukraine in various fields, including humanitarian, economic, military and rehabilitation assistance. In particular, the diplomat noted that more than 10 billion euros allocated by the Netherlands to help Ukraine include both humanitarian aid and significant military support. "To date, 3.8 billion euros have already arrived, and we plan to provide another 6 billion. Therefore, the total amount of aid will exceed 10 billion euros. In particular, almost four billion euros have already been used for military aid, and these funds continue to contribute to the strengthening of Ukraine's defense capabilities," the Ambassador of the Netherlands emphasized.
Especially important for the Netherlands is the support of the energy sector of Ukraine, which is constantly under threat due to Russian shelling of critical infrastructure. As Alle Dorhout noted, the country is actively looking for new opportunities to provide assistance to ensure uninterrupted energy supply to Ukraine during the winter period. "We have already done a lot to support the energy infrastructure of Ukraine and are constantly working on new initiatives. Colleagues are in touch with Ukrainian partners to understand how else we can help Ukraine survive this winter," the ambassador noted. The Netherlands not only supports Ukraine in the fight against the aggressor, but is also ready to participate in the reconstruction of the country after the end of the war. In addition to military and energy aid, the Netherlands actively promotes humanitarian initiatives and helps in the rehabilitation of war victims.
In general, the Netherlands became one of the biggest partners of Ukraine in a difficult time, which indicates a high level of solidarity and support from this country.
