Despite the official ban on taking tankers with Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG), Germany continues to buy this resource through other countries of the European Union. About it reports Financial Times .
Sefe's Energy Company , which previously belonged to Gazprom "and was nationalized in 2022, purchased 58 Russian LNG parties over the French port of Donkerk last year. This is six times more than in the previous year. the Bond Bender Leefmilieu Analytical Center , as well as Deutsche Umwelthilfe , Urgewald and the Ukrainian Razom We Stand .
The Russian LNG is shipped to the ports of Belgium and France, where it takes place and transported by pipelines to other EU countries, including Germany. In German official databases, this gas is usually referred to as Belgian, although Belgium does not produce natural gas.
Despite the cessation of direct supply of Russian pipeline gas, Germany continues to receive from 3% to 9.2% of gas from Russia through other European countries. Together with France and Spain, Belgium is the largest importer of Russian LNG in the EU.
The Ministry of Energy of these countries has repeatedly stated that their dependence on Russian gas has decreased significantly. However, according to analysts, a large part of the Russian gas coming to the EU is re -exported to other countries of the block.
