The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, together with the German Government, launches a € 700,000 grant program for the restoration of Internet infrastructure in the territories that have undergone the consequences of hostilities. Grants will be distributed equally between 70 telecom companies operating in several regions of Ukraine.
According to Ukrgasbank, as a result of the war, about 30% of land became contaminated, which poses serious threats to health and safety. The grant program will allow farmers to use financial support to mine and restore agricultural activities.
Grant funds can be spent on equipment, payment of electricity, rent, maintenance of networks and salaries of employees. The term of the grant is 4 months from the moment of signing the agreement.
Grants are made possible by the additional funding of the German government and the international cooperation program React4UA / EU4Business, initiated by the European Union and the German Government. At the same time, the Minister emphasizes the need to restore all telecommunications infrastructure, which requires about $ 2.2 billion.
