Pentagon's head, Lloyd Austin, after meeting with the Minister of Defense of Germany, Boris Pistorius, revealed Germany's contribution to support Ukraine, saying that Germany is the second volume of military assistance to Ukraine after the United States.
The US Department of Defense website states that Austin and Pistorius discussed the US and Germany's common interests, in particular Ukraine support.
Austin noted the dedication of Germany of Ukraine's self -defense and emphasized the financial support and supply of weapons systems. "After the United States, Germany became the second largest military assistance donor to Ukraine, which opposes Putin's aggression. In 2024, Germany allocated $ 7.7 billion for Ukraine," Austin said.
He also stressed that Germany provided Ukraine with critical air defense and artillery systems. The US and Germany continue to work fruitfully together to provide Ukraine with opportunities for successful defense.
Austin also expressed gratitude to Germany for receiving the largest number of Ukrainian refugees in Europe and emphasized its contribution to the self -defense of Ukraine.
