As of the end of 2024, the total capacity of the generating gas generation installation installations in Ukraine was 967 MW. Of this amount, 835 MW was put into operation during the current year. By the end of the heating season 2024-2025, it is planned to connect an additional about 900 MW, with some of these capacities already at the final stage of implementation. Thus, during the heating season will be available from 0.9 to 1.8 GW of additional gas power.
According to the network operators, a number of generating facilities connected to technological electrical networks provide their own needs of enterprises and communities in electricity. This reduces the overall level of consumption in the united power system of Ukraine and increases energy safety.
Energy Minister Herman Galushchenko noted that the work on connecting additional generating capacity is active. The government has made all the necessary solutions to maximize the simplification of permits and accelerate the construction time and connect new facilities. “The positive results of these decisions are noticeable today. By the end of the autumn and winter period 2024-2025, we expect a connection of about 900 MW of distributed generation facilities, ”the minister said.
