A new draft law on changes in VLK for limited fit

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is preparing to consider a new bill, which provides changes in the procedure of passing the Military Medical Commission (VLK) for limited suitable persons. This was reported by the Deputy Head of Presidential Office Irina Vereshchuk in her Telegram channel on January 29.

According to Vereshchuk, the document provides two key changes:

  1. The extension of the VLK is a mandatory period for the commission will be extended for another four months. Thus, the last term will be postponed to the beginning of June 2025.
  2. Exemption from the obligation to pass the VLK of persons up to 25 years -limited to the service of persons under the age of 25 years, are no longer obliged to undergo VLK.

Irina Vereshchuk expressed his gratitude to the Chairman of the Defense Committee Alexander Zaitnevich for prompt work on the bill and called on the People's Deputies to support the initiative during consideration in parliament.

The proposed changes are expected to simplify the procedure for conducting VLK for military personnel and take into account the real needs of those who have restrictions on fitness for military service.
