Russia is faced with new economic difficulties as banks of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have begun to block payments for Chinese electronic components and consumer electronics that are supplied to Russian companies. It happened against the background of continuing sanctions and economic isolation of Russia in the international arena, reports the Russian edition of Kommersant .
Through the UAE banks, including Dubai, Russian importers paid up to 10-20% of all laptop imports from the PRC, up to 30% by other categories of goods. There was the lowest commission of possible-1-3%.
The goods went directly from the PRC in the Russian Federation. It was by such chains that the UAE banks began to refuse because of the fears of secondary sanctions.
Previously, for the same reason, the banks of China, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and other "friendly" countries were refused. The Chinese top official flew to resolve the issue in Moscow.
