In 2024, a third of the growth of the Ukrainian gross domestic product (GDP) was provided with the country's defense and industrial complex. This was announced by the Minister of Strategic Industry, Herman Smetanin during a briefing "Ukrainian Weapon 2024", reports Liga.net.
According to Smetanin, in 2024, Ukrainian manufacturers produced weapons and equipment for a total amount of $ 9 billion. It is three times more than in 2023, when products were produced by $ 3 billion, and nine times more than in 2022, when this figure was $ 1 billion.
The minister also noted that the miners already sees the prospects for further growth of production in 2025. By the end of this year, Ukraine will be able to produce weapons and equipment for $ 35 billion.
This testifies to the strong development of the Ukrainian defense industry, which has become an important factor not only for the Armed Forces, but also for the support of the national economy in war.
