The Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets during the Teletrumor reported that since the beginning of 2024, Russian invaders had executed at least 109 Ukrainian prisoners of war. According to Lubinets, only during this year it was possible to formally confirm 109 facts of the execution of Ukrainian defenders.
This number is only attached to the already recorded 177 cases of execution of Ukrainian prisoners of war, which occurred in the first years of a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine. Thus, the total number of executed during this time reached more than 280 people.
These facts are part of a large list of accusations against the Russian army for violations of international humanitarian law, which includes crimes against humanity, including the premeditated murder of prisoners of war. Confirmation of such crimes is important for further international investigations and the provision of justice for the victims of these crimes.
