UN accused Israel of war crimes

The United Nations accused Israel of the Palestinian killings in the Gaza sector and condemned the humanitarian aid blockade. According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Israeli forces killed at least 58 Palestinians, including 10 children and three women after ceasefire. Many of them were killed near zones, which Israel defined as "forbidden". Some victims tried to return to their homes when they were attacked.

The UN stressed that attacks on a civilian population that did not actively participate in hostilities are war crimes, regardless of Israeli restrictions on transportation.

In addition, the Israeli government has decided to close border crossings with gas and the termination of humanitarian aid, which has already caused rapid rises in prices in the region. The blockade has been going on for the seventh day, creating a critical humanitarian situation.

“As a occupying state, Israel has a legal obligation to provide the Palestinians with essentials. The refusal to assist civilians may be regarded as a collective punishment that is a violation of international law. The use of famine and exhaustion as a means of war is a war crime, ”the UN Human Rights Commissioner said.

The international community urges Israel to stop the blockade and provide humanitarian aid access to the affected areas. However, the Israeli government has not yet responded to these calls.
