The opposition of Georgia opposed the parliament

Four opposition political forces of Georgia, which have entered the parliament, but do not recognize its legitimacy, addressed demands to the founder of the ruling party "Georgian Dream" Bidzina Ivanishvili. Among them are "Coalition for Changes" , "United National Movement" , "Strong Georgia" and "For Georgia" .

The opposition put forward two key demands, which, in their opinion, are necessary for the country's exit from the political crisis:

  1. Immediate release of political prisoners detained during protests against election falsification and for the European future of Georgia. They also demand to close all criminal cases against these activists.
  2. Appointment of new parliamentary elections , which must be organized by an independent electoral body. The oppositionists also demand ensuring the political neutrality of law enforcement agencies during the election process.

These demands were a reaction to the aggravation of the political situation in Georgia, which has been ongoing since the last parliamentary elections, which were accompanied by accusations of falsifications. The protests, organized by the opposition, intensified against the background of the country's desire for European integration, which, according to the protesters, is being blocked by the actions of the ruling party.

At the moment, there has been no official response from representatives of the Georgian Dream party or Bidzina Ivanishvili.
