Panasonic has developed a new 10 kW hydrogen generator that will be available on the market since October 2024. This device is planned to sell in Europe, Australia and China, which will significantly expand the presence of the company outside Japan.
The PH3 generator is able to produce a maximum of 10 kW of DC power and about 8.2 kW of heat, which can be used to heat water up to about 60 ° C. This model is an advanced version of the previous PH1 generator released in 2021, which had a capacity of 5 kW.
PH3 uses the cogeneration method, which allows it to achieve high efficiency. It has an electric efficiency of 57% (constant current, low voltage) and the efficiency of heat recovery 47% (low voltage), which gives a total efficiency of 104%. The high efficiency of the generator helps to reduce operating costs due to less use of hydrogen.
PH3 generator can be installed in small rooms, both residential and commercial. It can operate in different environmental conditions, withstanding low temperatures (up to -15 ° C) and a high height (up to 1000 m). The generator capacity can be adjusted in 1 kW in the range of 4 to 10 kW per module.
Users can connect up to 250 modules of generators on fuel elements on clean water, which allows to plan and control energy production. Access points for maintenance are located in the front that simplifies maintenance.
Panasonic plans to carry out several demonstrations of the generator at its factories in Velsea and Germany. The company actively seeks to expand the use of hydrogen as a viable alternative to renewable energy sources, facilitating the decarbonization process. Panasonic is convinced that hydrogen will gradually penetrate not only the enterprises but also the home.
Thus, PH3 generator from Panasonic is an important step in the direction of sustainable development and implementation of innovative energy solutions.
