The PACE does not recognize the legitimacy of Putin as the president of the Russian Federation, says the adopted resolution dedicated to the death of Navalny.
The PACE calls on European countries to cut off contacts with it, "except for contacts with humanitarian and peace-oriented purposes."
The Europeans claim that "the cancellation of presidential term limits in the interests of Putin violates not only the Constitution of Russia, but also international legal principles."
The PACE calls for the identification of private and legal entities that can be "helpers of the Russian Federation" and to apply strict punishment measures to them, including the confiscation of assets, as well as "recognize that the Russian Orthodox Church is actually used by the Kremlin as a tool of Russian influence and propaganda and has nothing to do with freedom of religion and freedom of expression".
The PACE resolution also states that "a decisive victory for Ukraine can lead to real changes in the system of the Russian Federation, in particular to de-imperialization, decolonization and refederalization, which are necessary conditions for the establishment of democracy in Russia."
