Before Easter, there is a significant increase in passenger traffic on the Ukrainian border. According to the State Border Service, nearly 110,000 people were crossed by the border in the last day - 70,000 per entry into Ukraine and 49 thousand for departure.
The western checkpoints remain the most loaded. In total, 92 thousand travelers were recorded here, which is 20% more than the average in the previous days. The southern borders - with Moldova (Odesa and Vinnytsia regions) and Romania (Odesa region) - crossed more than 17,000 people. It also exceeds the usual level.
The largest load is recorded at Shegin's checkpoints, Krakivtsi and Rava-Ruska, where delays are possible, in particular through repair work. Instead, less queues are observed at the points of Nizhankovichi, Smilnytsia, Grushov and Ugrin.
To accelerate the passage, the Border Service used additional outfits, increased the number of changes and launched more items for verification of documents.
Border guards also predict the further growth of passenger traffic after the Easter holidays and urge citizens to choose less loaded border crossing points.
