The first meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council at the level of foreign ministers

Ukraine is getting closer to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg noted before the meeting in Brussels. According to him, all allies agree that Ukraine will become a member of the bloc.

The meeting is historic and will discuss support for Ukraine on the way to NATO membership and on the battlefield. Jens Stoltenberg expressed admiration for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and their bravery. However, he emphasized that despite Ukraine's achievements on the battlefield, allies should not underestimate Russia.

The meeting will discuss concrete support steps, such as the opening of a training center for F-16 pilots in Romania, financial assistance from the Netherlands and the creation of an air defense coalition by the 20 allies. Jens Stoltenberg called for even more sustained and enhanced support for Ukraine to ensure its ability to defend its independence.
