The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has certified the first bulletproof vest specifically for women servicemen. This innovative protective element differs from traditional options and has a number of features that are designed for the maximum comfort and efficiency of the women's user.
Ukrainian production bulletproof vest was developed by Ukrainian Armor. Its sample was approved after two stages of tests, during which the bulletproof vest was finalized, taking into account the anatomy and features of the female body.
The distinctive features of the "female" bulletproof vest include curved armor, narrowed shoulders and extended bottom. This coordination with women's physiology allows you to provide comfortable conditions for weapons and interacting with other equipment.
"Since women's shoulders are narrower and the pelvis, on the contrary, is wider than men, it was inconvenient for servicemen to work with weapons in the" male "version of the bulletproof vest," - said Alexander Sharko, Chief Specialist of the Central Department of Development and Support of the Armed Forces.
The female bulletproof vest, made taking into account the anthropometric features of the female body, became possible for centralized purchase. The Ministry of Defense expects an application from the General Staff for the purchase of these bulletproof vests, and then the volumes and lists for purchase will be formed.
The process of development and testing of the bulletproof vest was carried out for the second time, which took into account the wishes of women of military after the first stage of testing. The purchase of "women's" bulletproof vests will be engaged in "state operator".
