North Korea is preparing for a new stage of Russia's military assistance, transferring more than 100 M1989 artillery systems, which were designed for a potential conflict with South Korea. According to Kirill Budanov, the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine, this assistance is part of the continued support of Russian Pyongyang in the war against Ukraine.
Koksan Artsystems, 170 mm howitzers, are known for their long-range and ability to strike long distances. These guns, which became a symbol of the DPRK's military power, were originally designed to destroy South Korea troops, in particular the capital of Seul, in the event of a war. Now, instead of being used for this scenario, these systems find themselves in the hands of the Russian military, where they are planned to be applied at the front in Ukraine.
According to information transmitted through international sources, Pyongyang not only supplies equipment, but also provides instructors who teach Russian military use by Koksan artisms. Moreover, it is expected that in the coming weeks, even more such systems will be delivered, supported by the M1991 volley fire systems.
These deliveries are part of the wider North Korea strategy aimed at supporting Russia's military efforts. Deliveries have already taken place through the Kursk region, where new artillery systems that came to Russia from North Korea were recorded in the video.
This new deepening of military cooperation between Russia and North Korea testifies to increasing military tension and support among countries that have common interests in the fight against Western sanctions and international pressure.
