This decision is part of Pyongyang's efforts to hide the fact that its military is involved in the conflict on the territory of Ukraine, which, according to Lee, is extremely sensitive information for the North Korean authorities.

South Korean sources claim that Russia is actively training the North Korean military in the use of modern warfare technologies, including drones. In addition, Moscow engages translators to coordinate joint actions. Russian military instructors are positive about the North Korean military's physical fitness and morale, but note that the soldiers lack knowledge of modern warfare methods, which could cause serious casualties if deployed on the front lines.
The reaction of South Korea and the United States
South Korea strongly condemned North Korea's intervention in the war in Ukraine and called for the immediate withdrawal of North Korean troops from Russia. Seoul has warned that in case of further escalation of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow, it may start supplying Ukraine with lethal weapons.
Meanwhile, the United States found that in October, North Korean troops were transported by sea from the Wonsan region to Vladivostok and then sent to Russian training grounds in the east of the country. This information confirms the growing military alliance between Russia and North Korea, which is causing concern among Western countries.
