Presidents of Poland and Lithuania, Andrzej Duda and Gitanas Nauseda, during a meeting in Vilnius agreed to expand cooperation in the field of defense and conduct joint exercises. These measures aim to strengthen military cooperation and increase the military mobility of both countries.
President of Lithuania, Hitanas Nauseda, noted that joint exercises are planned, developing joint training of the Armed Forces and improving military mobility. In this context, special attention will be paid to the Succy corridor - a strategically important area of the border, located between the Kaliningrad region and Belarus.
The presidents also discussed bilateral cooperation in the field of defense and regional security. In particular, they emphasized the importance of monitoring and Succy corridor measures, which is a potential way to ensure the security of the Baltic countries.
The recent joint military exercises of Lithuania and Poland, which took place last summer in a Claipeda on the Dani River, focused on the liberation of critically important infrastructure in the event of a potential occupation.
The leaders also discussed military assistance to Ukraine , where the Lithuanian President has supported the need to provide political, financial and military assistance.
