Poland will not shoot down "unknown objects" on its territory, because it was warned

On August 28, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said at a press conference that the country's allies made recommendations on caution in cases of violation of airspace by unknown objects. This reservation is part of a broader strategy for support and coordination between NATO member states.

Tusk acknowledged that it could be difficult to determine the nature of an unknown object at an early stage. "We can not always determine immediately whether the target is a civilian object or whether it is a threat," the Prime Minister said. He stressed that allies recommend Poland to be restrained when knocking down objects when there is no obvious threat or aggression.

Currently, the decision to beat the air facility in peacetime is made by the operative commander Maci Klysh. Tusk added that the Polish government is ready to consider possible changes in the legislation governing such decisions. Poland may make appropriate adjustments to the rules if necessary to ensure safety.
