In the decision on a migration pact that regulates the mechanism of so -called voluntary solidarity, 301 MPs voted for "for", 272 were "against", and 46 abstained.
Deputies of the European Parliament from PO, PSL and PIS opposed the pact. Representatives of the "new left" and the MEP from Poland in 2050 TUN rose voted in favor or abstained from voting.
However, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that Poland would disagree on the mechanism of refugee resettlement, even despite the adoption of the Migration Agreement by the European Parliament. He believes that its current solution is unacceptable to Poland, especially in the context of refugees from Asian and African countries.
The head of the Polish government stressed that since the beginning of the discussion on the protection of Europe from migration, its main purpose was to maintain control of borders.
