The situation in the Polish agricultural sector is becoming more difficult, and farmers again express their dissatisfaction. According to Topograr.pl, the profitability of production in many industries decreases, and the financial condition of the villages is deteriorating. This can lead to new protests that agrarians are already planning for the fall of 2024 and winter 2024-2025.
Farmers express their indignation due to deterioration of working conditions, in particular due to poor harvest and low purchase prices for grain. Victims of natural disasters, such as storms and frosts, have not yet received any financial assistance. "The situation is becoming dramatic. We have nothing to live on, and the authorities continue to promise, but does not fulfill its obligations," - said Damian Muravets, Elblong farmer and the activist of young farmers.
Despite the promises from the government, agrarians believe that the situation with agrarian policy has not changed for the better. In particular, criticism caused a partial change in the green course, not its cancellation. Also, according to agrarians, the embargo on all Belarusian and Russian agricultural products has not been introduced, which worsens their conditions of competition.
The authorities also did not support the proposal of farmers to create working groups to solve the most pressing problems in agriculture. In response, farmers have already started protests, including the blockade of the provincial road No. 240 in the Khoinice (Pomeranian Voivodeship). They promise to continue protests unless their requirements are fulfilled.
Farmers require urgent solutions to problems and restore state support. They are convinced that without adequate power measures, their situation will only deteriorate and are ready to fight for their rights at all levels.
