Polish trucks help Ukrainian artillerymen in providing ammunition

The Ukrainian military is actively using Polish trucks Jelcz P882D53 to transport artillery ammunition, which allows to increase the efficiency of artillery operations and reduce the time to supply shells to the front. This became known from a video published by the 26th Artillery Brigade named after Roman Dashkevich.

Jelcz P882D53 machines rarely fall into the center of attention, but recently they have become an object of interest through video, where they have been used in detail by Ukrainian artillerymen. The trucks were transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine together with Polish self -propelled Krab artillery units, which significantly increases the mobility and efficiency of artillery units. Jelcz P882D53 is a specialized vehicle for transportation and self-reload of 120 mm and 155mm artillery ammunition. The truck is equipped with a powerful 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine Iveco Cursor 13, which develops 530 horsepower (397 kW), which allows to effectively transport large cargoes in difficult hostilities.

The machine has a cab with a ballistic protection for crew (two people) in accordance with Stanag 4569, Level 1. For self-defense, the truck can be equipped with a UKM-2000 machine gun, which is mounted on a rotary platform on the roof. According to the OSINT Resource Oryx, Ukrainian troops have already lost at least two such Jelcz P882D53 trucks. The first was destroyed by drone Kamikadze in April 2023 while loading ammunition on a self-propelled Krab artillery installation. The circumstances of the loss of the second machine remain unknown, but it is suggested that both photographs depicting damage to the equipment may apply to the same truck, since they have similar weather conditions and the environment.

These trucks are important elements in the supply chain of artillery ammunition, as they not only transport the shells, but also provide their loading and unloading through the self -reloading system. This allows the artillery units to quickly change positions and maintain intensive fire power even in difficult conditions. In addition, Jelcz P882D53 trucks have a modern Fonet internal and external communication system from WB Group, which provides effective communication between units and allows you to respond in a timely manner to change the situation on the battlefield.

Due to its characteristics, the Jelcz P882D53 trucks are an important component of Ukrainian artillery units, which provides quick and efficient ammunition supply to the front. However, the loss of such equipment, as experience shows, is part of complex and dangerous combat activities, where every resource is crucial for maintaining combat operations.
