Violation of rights during mobilization increases

During the last two and a half months, the office of the Ukrainian Ombudsman has received more than 40 individual requests for violations of citizens' rights in Kharkiv region during mobilization measures. This was reported by the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights Dmitry Lubinets in his Telegram.

In 2025, the number of appeals and cases covered in the media increased violations during mobilization measures by employees of territorial centers. This alarming trend continues to persist, which causes serious concern to human rights defenders.

According to Lubin, most of the appeals relate to lawyers, the use of force, weapons and other special means, as well as refusal to accept documents and other violations. He stressed that each appeal is carefully considered by his team, as well as representatives of the office in Kharkiv region.

"I and my representative in the Kharkiv region are reacting to such incidents to ensure human rights," the Ombudsman said.

Lubinets also drew attention to the recent incidents covered in the media. According to him, at least three videos show how cyclists are beaten by a car, after which people in the form use force and place the victims of the cars.

"I emphasize that such actions are unacceptable and need response," he emphasized.

The Ombudsman's office continues to monitor the situation and calls on all the victims to apply for further consideration and legal protection.
