The Prada Italian Fashion House will buy a well -known Versace brand at Capri Holdings for $ 1.375 billion in cash. This will be the greatest agreement in the entire 112-year history of Prada. According to Bloomberg , the end of the operation is expected in the second half of 2025.
The purchase will be funded by new debt financing by € 1.5 billion. With this step, Prada will greatly strengthen its position in the struggle for a share in the global luxury market, in particular with the giants of the industry - LVMH and Kering.
Of particular importance of the agreement is that the Versace brand will return under the control of the Italian owner. Earlier, in 2018, Capri Holdings, which also have brands Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo, purchased Versace for 1.8 billion euros.
The news of sales has positively affected the Capri Holdings shares - they increased by 0.2% during the previous bidding on Thursday.
