Luis Inasiu Lula Da Silva stated that he had twice appealed to Russia's leadership to stop the war and join peace talks. He told this during a joint press conference with French President in Paris.
He noted that he had personal conversations with the Russian leader who insisted on the need to end hostilities. According to him, the war does not benefit, but only destroys.
Lula also reported coordination of actions with the leader of China. In particular, countries have prepared a joint proposal from developing countries to create an international group that will look for ways to resolve the situation.
Brazil's President added that he called Moscow for the second time to emphasize the importance of participating in negotiations.
French President emphasized that Brazil and China should play a significant role in the prompting of Russia's leadership to dialogue. He also noted that other countries in the world should make efforts to increase international pressure.
During the speech, it was mentioned that in the previous stages, Ukraine had already agreed to proposals for ceasefire, but Russia's leadership refused to make concessions every time.
