On Saturday, April 26, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the capital of Italy - Rome - to honor the memory of Pope Francis, who recently went to eternity. Together with the head of state, the first lady Elena Zelensk and the official Ukrainian delegation arrived in Italy.
Presidential spokesman Sergey Nikiforov announced his participation in the ceremony. According to him, the Ukrainian delegation will join the international leaders who have arrived in order to pay the latest Pontiff, who has headed the Catholic Church since 2013 and gained a worldwide respect due to its openness, humanism and an active position in peace.
The farewell ceremony Francis became an event of a global scale, uniting representatives of different countries, religions and cultures that came to express their respect to the spiritual leader.
