The President of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine (NAAS) was informed of suspected assistance in the waste of property of state -owned enterprises. The Office of the Prosecutor General announced this on June 13.
According to the investigation, the official arranged his personal driver at once up to four controlled NAAS of state agro -enterprises for different positions. The man received a salary from the state budget, although he did not actually perform any duties. His only real function was to serve the President of the Academy as a driver.
The name of the suspect is not officially called, however, according to public data, the current head of NAAS is Yaroslav Gadzalo. According to Ukrinform, the staff of the State Bureau of Investigation (DBR) on June 13 conduct searches with the President of the Academy.
The Office of the Prosecutor General notes that the unlawful actions have caused material losses to the State Budget of Ukraine. The case was qualified under Part 5 of Art. 27 and Part 3 of Art. 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - assistance in the waste of property in particularly large amounts by prior conspiracy by a group of persons.
The issue of a preventive measure is currently being resolved and possible removal of the person being occupied.
