The Ministry of Finance has a misunderstanding about why servicemen on the front are forced to provide themselves at their own expense. Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko expressed his dissatisfaction with this situation, saying that the state is allocated UAH 5 billion daily for the needs of the defense sector.
When asked by Forbes journalists, Marchenko expressed surprise why servicemen should spend their own money on the purchase of things they needed for the forefront.
"Who else is allocated? Local budgets and local self -government bodies. We have calculated their opportunity for a year - it varies from 15 to 20 billion. That is, if all local governments, all mayers will disappear, they will be able to continue for four days of war," he said.
The Minister of Finance stressed that volunteers and non -governmental organizations could not meet the needs of the Armed Forces, comparing their opportunities with the capabilities of the state.
- "With all respect for volunteers, no other non -governmental organizations and are close to the state's capabilities to provide the Armed Forces,"* he added.
Marchenko confidently states that there should be sufficient equipment and weapons in military warehouses, and indicated that the specific persons responsible for it should be addressed to resolve these issues.
- "It is difficult for me to comment on things that I do not understand myself. I do not understand why we still provide in the fold of servicemen,"* - - - concluded the minister.
