At the entrances to Kiev, checkpoints were installed, which, as explained by the Deputy Chief of the RTC and JV in the capital, Major Larisa Kozak, is an initiative of local authorities, not military or territorial centers of staffing.
Kozak noted that the inspections of documents from the conscripts are not within the competence of the Tax Code. These tasks are performed by other security agencies, including police, SBU and military personnel working on checkpoints.
"The decision to attract mobile posts in certain sections of the capital is made during meetings with the participation of the military-civilian administration," the Major explained.
According to the Cossack, the main purpose of checkpoints is:
- checking vehicles for harmful goods;
- detection of sabotage and intelligence groups;
- ensuring the safety of the capital and preventing potential threats.
