Since the beginning of 2025, employees of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SSSU), together with law enforcement officers, have eliminated more than 110 criminal groups who specialized in the illegal assistance in the crossing of the border for evasion from mobilization.
According to the SPSU spokesman Andriy Demchenko during a briefing, the border guards are faced daily with cases of attempting to cross the border illegally. At the same time, according to Demchenko, the tendency to reduce such cases has been observed since July 2024, and even March 2025 was no exception. Comparing the statistics of February and March 2025, the number of detained violators has declined.
"March was no exception, and we have seen a tendency to reduce the attempts of illegal crossing the border, in particular with the help of criminal groups, which take for their services from $ 5 to $ 12 thousand," Demchenko said.
The SSSU, together with law enforcement officers, continues to combat organized criminal groups that help the evasion illegally cross the border. This is an important element of the border authorities to ensure the security of the country and prevent illegal departures.
Since the beginning of this year, more than 110 such groups have already been discontinued. At the same time, these organized criminals offer their services to cross the border, often for a considerable amount. Only once, these "schemes" can bring them up to tens of thousands of dollars.
The SSSU spokesman also stressed that thanks to the active work of border outfits, it was possible to significantly reduce the number of successful attempts of illegal crossing the border. The tendency to reduce such offenses is an important result of joint actions of the law enforcement agencies of Ukraine.
