Psychological consequences of threats of explosions in air panic: review from an expert

Anxiety about the state of the air often leads to certain neurotic worries about the possibility of explosions. Surprisingly, for some, it may even bring some relief if their fears turn out to be well-founded, say experts at the mental health program How Are You?

At a subconscious level, people can romanticize dangerous periods, and after the absence of a threat during a period of peace, they can relive in memories of shelling in a shelter or a power outage.

The psychologist of the Ukrainian unit of UNICEF, Nadiya Branytska, explained in a simple way why our mind responds to such fears. She explained that this is related to the effective functioning of the protective mechanisms of the psyche, which are aimed at protecting a person from overload and injuries.
