Putin is ready to end the war in Ukraine on the condition that the occupied territories of the Russian Federation are recognized

Volodymyr Putin showed interest in the termination of the war in Ukraine and expressed his readiness to conclude a truce, provided that Ukraine and the West agree with the current lines of hostilities and the preservation of the occupied territories under the control of Russia.

During the discussions in his environment, Putin expressed a little disappointment due to the fact that he perceives the actions of the event as an attempt to disrupt negotiations, as well as in connection with the decision of President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky to refuse negotiations. Putin is ready to continue the conflict unless his requirements are fulfilled.

However, Putin also feels the need to end the war, especially due to the possibility of increasing dissatisfaction among Russians returning from the front. The possibility of a short future reaction to ceasefire, including re -equipment, is also taken into account.

The appointment of economist Andriy Belousov to the post of Minister of Defense caused a discussion among Western experts as an attempt to transfer the Russian economy to a military order for a long war. However, Putin seems to be more constructive and interested in the end of the conflict, using his "present impulse" to achieve goals.

The Russian leader is aware that the extension of the war will require additional mobilization, which can adversely affect the internal situation in the country. He also understands that any new success on the front will require additional efforts and can lead to more aggravation of conflict.
