Putin is "technically ready" for nuclear war

Vladimir Putin interviewed the Russian State Media "RIA Novosti" and "Russia 1", where he declared technical readiness for nuclear war.

"From a military-technical point of view, we, of course, are ready. They (nuclear missiles-ed.) We are constantly in a state of combat readiness," he said, answering the question whether Russia is really ready for nuclear war.

According to him, there is an approximate parity between the US and the Russian Federation for such missiles, but the nuclear triad (carriers on the water, in the air and on land) in Russia is "more modern". The United States seems to be trying to improve their carriers and catch up with the opponent now.

"But that does not mean that, to me, they are ready to resolve this nuclear war tomorrow. Well, they want, but what. We are ready," the Kremlin head said.

But speaking of tactical nuclear weapons, Putin said that the need to use it in Russian troops during the war in Ukraine has never been. The Kremlin head stressed that such an idea did not even think of him.

At the same time, the US media, citing sources, report that at the end of 2022, the Russian authorities discussed the use of tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine after successful actions of the Ukrainian army in Kharkiv and Kherson.

The US authorities, in turn, seemed to have developed a response plan to a possible nuclear strike that would be an attack on Russian positions through non -nuclear weapons.

In an interview with RIA Novosti, Putin assured that he was ready to use nuclear weapons only under certain conditions.

"We have our principles. They are talking about-that we are ready to use weapons, including any weapon, including the one you said, when it comes to the existence of the Russian state, causing harm to our sovereignty and independence. We all have written in our strategy, we did not change it."

If, according to him, the US will conduct nuclear tests, it is possible that Russia will do the same.

About Western Troops in Ukraine

Putin also commented on the question of the possible introduction of Western troops into Ukraine. French President Emmanuel Macron declared this idea.
