Peskov about negotiations in Riyadh

Russia does not plan to disclose the content of negotiations with the United States that took place in Riyadh. This was stated by the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov during a briefing on Tuesday, March 25.

According to him, the meeting was "technical" and included "immersion in details", so its results will not be made public. "This should not be expected," Peskov said, answering journalists' questions about possible officials about negotiations.

He also noted that in Moscow are currently analyzing the participants' reports, after which specific conclusions may appear.

In addition, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Maria Zakharova reported that Russia's Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov plans to talk about some aspects of negotiations in his interview with the First Channel.

The meeting in the capital of Saudi Arabia has become another attempt to involve Russia in dialogue to terminate the fighting. According to preliminary data, the topic of negotiations was a proposal for a limited truce, which could be the first step to a larger -scale peace process.

Earlier, the media reported that Riyadh also hosted separate consultations between the US and Ukraine. Washington hopes that an initiative to cease fire in the Black Sea will help create the preconditions for further negotiations on peaceful settlement of the war.
