The Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine Andriy Pyshny assured the public that the initiative to change the name of the exchange coins from the "penny" to "Shaga" will not require any additional expenses from the state budget or budget of the NBU. He reported this on his Facebook page, emphasizing that the financial aspect is one of the key priorities in the process of money circulation.
The lush stressed that new coins will be put into circulation in parallel with pennies, which will avoid the cost of recycling old coins and making new ones. This decision is economically appropriate and will not create additional financial burden on the state. The NBU Chairman assured that the derusification in monetary circulation will take place without harming the state budget.
This initiative is part of large -scale changes that are aimed at depriving Ukraine of the remnants of Russia's influence. However, it is important that these changes do not require additional costs. The introduction of steps instead of pennies will take place within the existing financial planning, without the need to allocate additional funds.
The proposal to change the name of coins to "Stew" has a historical basis and symbolizes the return to Ukrainian traditions. The name "Shag" has an ancient Ukrainian origin and has been widely used in Ukraine since the XVI -XVII centuries. At the same time, as emphasized in the NBU, the restoration of this name will take place without additional financial expenses.
The National Bank of Ukraine has already prepared the necessary proposals for legislative changes. If the Verkhovna Rada passes the relevant laws, the NBU will be able to start the minting and putting into circulation of new coins.
