Russian occupation troops are increasingly resorting to the use of prohibited chemicals against Ukraine's defense forces. This is stated in the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense, published on April 14 on the official Telegram-channel of the department.
According to GUR, we are talking about the use of ammunition with poisonous gas, in particular hand grenades of the RG-in, which are dropped from drones into Ukrainian positions in Zaporizhzhya region. These ammunition contains a chemical irritant - chlorocetophenone, known for its ability to affect the mucous membrane and the respiratory tract.
Staying in the area of lesion of this chemical without appropriate protection can lead to death. Unfortunately, according to GUR representatives, cases of death of Ukrainian defenders have already been recorded due to the effects of these toxic substances.
Laboratory studies are currently underway that have accurately identify the substance used. In intelligence, they emphasize that the fact of systematic use of chemicals indicates the failures of the Russian military in achieving strategic goals on the battlefield and the desperate attempts of the Kremlin to break the course of war with illegal methods.
