The German defensive giant Rheinmetall and the American innovation company Anduril Industries have announced a strategic partnership. The parties plan to establish the joint production of the latest shock drones and high -precision cruise missiles in Europe. The companies were reported on Wednesday, June 18.
The agreement provides for the launch of US shock drones and the winged Barracuda rockets. In addition, it is planned to produce solid fuel rocket engines with the participation of a number of European enterprises.
Barracuda is a series of available cruise missiles with different types of combat units and range. The Barracuda-M model is optimized for mass production, which should solve the problem of lack of precision ammunition in NATO countries.
In turn, Fury is a jet drone with artificial intelligence. Its main task is to support fifth generation fighters, such as the F-35, as well as providing autonomous combat operations in difficult air conditions.
Analysts believe that the partnership between Rheinmetall and Anduril will significantly strengthen Europe's technological independence and speed up the modernization of weapons in response to increasing security threats in the region.
