Russian propagandists are once again spreading misinformation, arguing that the United States allegedly plans to replace the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky through the operation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. It is another attempt by the enemy to loosen the situation in Ukraine and to strengthen narratives about "external management". According to the Telegram Strategic Communications and Information Security Center, such statements are fake and have no grounds.
The propagandists are trying to promote the statement of the former US Central Intelligence Administration Larry Johnson, who allegedly claims that the United States is considering the script of "elimination" of Zelensky. At the same time, the words of other marginal persons, such as the former UN inspector Scott Ritter, who also have nothing to do with modern political or intelligence agencies and have long been known for their pro -Russian views, are used to enhance this propaganda.
The SPRAVDI center emphasizes that Russian propaganda is trying to use the old regalia and the dubious reputation of these persons to strengthen their fake narratives. This is part of the information war that Russia leads against Ukraine, trying to undermine confidence in the Ukrainian leadership and spread false information among the population.
The main purpose of such informational throws is to create the illusion of "external management" in Ukraine and to doubt among Ukrainians about the legitimacy of power. It is another attempt to influence the domestic political situation in the country and to weaken the unity in society against the backdrop of a continuing war.
Thus, such statements are nothing more than Russia's regular attempt to use information weapons to achieve its goals in a hybrid war against Ukraine.
