Russia is preparing for mobilization

Russia needs a new wave of mobilization to maintain hostilities in Ukraine, according to Bild Editor Jeanne Plaumann and military observer Julian Ropke. According to them, according to international estimates, since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia in Ukraine in February 2022, 110 to 140 thousand Russian soldiers were killed in February 2022.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, seeking to increase the number of troops in Ukraine, uses various methods of recruitment. Men are promised high payments, for term -makers are invited to sign contracts under pressure. According to Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Ivan Havrylyuk, Russia has increased the number of its troops in Ukraine from 400 thousand people at the beginning of the year to 600 thousand at the moment. By the end of the year, Putin plans to bring this number up to 800,000 servicemen.

However, resources that have Russian regions to recruit new contractors are gradually exhausted, which increases the likelihood of large -scale mobilization. According to Plaumann and Ryopke, Putin can use the offensive of the Armed Forces in the Kursk region as a reason for calling more Russians. However, it is expected that this mobilization is likely to be carried out secretly, without an official announcement.

Experts also emphasize that such developments are evidence of significant losses among the Russian military and the need to urgently fill the losses to support the occupation forces in Ukraine. At the same time, such mobilization can be another test for Russian society, which is already suffering from the consequences of a long war.
