Russia may launch a massive missile attack on Ukraine today

On August 26, Ukraine may face a new massive missile and drone strike from Russia. Such an alarming statement was made by military expert Oleksiy Hetman during a telethon broadcast. He noted that after a month and a half of relative calm, Russian forces have probably accumulated a significant stockpile of missiles and drones, which could lead to a powerful attack.

Accumulation of weapons and the threat of a massive strike

The Hetman emphasized that no large-scale shelling by Russia had been observed in the last 1.5 months. During this time, the aggressor could accumulate up to 200 missiles, which exceeds the number that the Russian army usually launches in one month.

"The Russians could accumulate almost 200 missiles, in addition to what they had in the so-called inviolable reserve. Therefore, it was expected that the blow would be the most powerful," the expert noted.

He also added that the current attack could be part of a test of the Ukrainian air defense system. This may indicate that the enemy was testing the capabilities of Ukrainian air defense before launching a larger attack.

A second wave of attacks is possible

Oleksiy Hetman warned that the current situation may be only the first wave of strikes, and it is possible that Russia will strike again today or in the near future.

"A more powerful raid was expected. Therefore, let's not relax, because this may be the first wave and it may be the second," Hetman emphasized.

According to him, the Russian forces can use the accumulated missiles either for one massive strike or for several less intensive attacks. However, any scenario poses a significant threat to Ukraine.
