Russia announced a list of "enemies of spiritual values"

On September 20, 2024, Prime Minister of Russia Mikhail Mishustin approved a list of 47 countries that, according to the Kremlin, have "destructive attitudes" that contradict the Russian spiritual and moral values. This step has caused concern for the international community, as Russia continues to promote the ideological division of the world, reminding of the tactics of the Cold War.

According to the Report of the Institute of War (ISW), the list includes mainly Western countries and states that support Ukraine. However, Slovakia, Hungary, Turkey, Moldova and Georgia did not reach this list. Russian officials have expressed their concern about Western neoliberal values and are trying to create a new ideological camp based on the alleged "traditional" Russian spiritual principles.

This list appeared shortly after a presidential decree that facilitates immigration to Russia for people who do not share "destructive neoliberal values" in their home countries.

Experts say that such a step is an attempt to split the world into ideological camps and strengthen its position in the international arena by creating new Eurasian forums and security architects. The purpose of these initiatives is to exclude the event from the political game, while promoting the idea of Russian uniqueness and protecting spiritual values.
