Russia transfers military equipment from Syria to Libya

Russia has launched a large -scale redeployment of air defense systems and other weapons from military bases in Syria to Libya. According to the information, Russian freight aircraft transported radars and components of the C-400 and C-300 systems to bases in the East of Libya, which is controlled by the Kremlin ally-Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Haftar.

Despite the decrease in military presence in Syria, Russia seeks to preserve its influence in the Middle East. Previously, its role in the region was largely supported by close cooperation with Bashar Assad. Now Moscow is trying to activate his relationship with another ancient partner - Haftar in Libya.

It is worth noting that Russia has a military presence in Libya for a long time through private military companies, including Wagner PEC, which has been working closely with the Libyan commander. Haftar's objects served for "Wagnets" important transit points for further transfer to other African countries.

It remains unknown whether the Libya's weapons are transported on a permanent basis, whether they will be relocated to Russia.
