Russia uses forced methods to attract African students and migrants to the war against Ukraine, threatening deportation to those who refuse to sign a military contract.
It is reported by Bloomberg, referring to sources among European and Ukrainian officials.
"Using the tactics for the first time used by the Wagner mercenaries, Russian officials are increasingly threatening not to extend visas to African students and young workers if they do not agree to enter the army," the newspaper writes.
According to European officials, the Kremlin forced thousands of migrants and foreign students to fight against Ukraine, adding additional forces for offensive in Kharkiv region.
Russia also conducts a global campaign for the recruitment of foreign mercenaries in at least 21 countries, including several countries in Africa, Bloomberg reports, citing Ukrainian intelligence.
