The German edition of Bild has published an alarming analytics that provides a possible scenario of the Russian invasion of the Baltic States. According to experts, in the case of a full -scale attack, Russia can capture Latvia and part of Lithuania in just ten days. Such a prognosis is concerned among NATO countries, in particular in the context of the current war in Ukraine, which demonstrates Moscow's aggressive ambitions.
These are the results of a simulated Russian attack scenario, which was conducted by the American Center on New Generation Warfare. The modeling was involved in the ex-generals of NATO Philip Bridlav and Ben Hodges.
The attack, behind the scene, takes place in 2027. It is stated that it will take up to ten days for the worst scenario to provide land assistance with Baltic countries with the fifth article on collective defense.
It is stated that in addition to the armies of Lithuania and Latvia, the German troops will participate in the reflection of the attack (by 2027 there will be a 4,000th brigade, armed with Leopard tanks).
According to the scenario, Russia captures Latvia and attacks Lithuania, while stepping from Belarus and Kaliningrad. Lithuania and its allies are forced to retreat. Part of the country will be captured to the NATO's main forces.
