In the second quarter of 2025, the global smartphone market has increased by only 1% on the annual comparison, GSMARENA reports with reference to the International Data Corporation Analytical Company report. Despite the complex macroeconomic conditions, Samsung has retained the position of the leader in the volume of deliveries.
In the period from April to June, Samsung shipped about 58 million smartphones, providing the company with 19.7% of the global market. Among the popular models are Galaxy A36 and Galaxy A56, which have been in high demand.
Apple took second place with approximately 46.4 million devices and a market share of 15.7%. The company recorded a significant increase in sales in developing markets, but noted the fall in volumes by 1% in China.
The third place was held by Xiaomi with 42.5 million smartphones sold and 14.4%. Its growth was 0.6% compared to last year.
The following are Vivo with 27.1 million devices and a fraction of 9.2%, and the fifth place was taken by the Transssion (Infinix, Tecno, ITEL) brands with 25.1 million smartphones and 8.5%.
Analysts note that the second quarter is traditionally a difficult season for manufacturers, and additional challenges create fluctuations in currencies, inflation, unemployment, tariff instability and poor demand in China.
