The Security Service of Ukraine announced suspicion against guards who tortured Ukrainian prisoners of war

The Security Service of Ukraine reported a collection of evidence -based on three persons involved in the torture of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the temporarily occupied Gorlovka, Donetsk region. The suspects are Andriy Kononenko, Dmitry Andreev and Artem Karyanov - local residents who, at the beginning of a full -scale invasion, joined the occupying “DNR penalty management”.

According to the investigation, the suspects worked as guards in Kativni, created by Russian invaders on the basis of a captured correctional colony # 27 in Gorlovka. They participated in the so-called "receptions"-the first day of imprisonment, during which the prisoners were beaten by the pr-73 to the semicondise. These cruel methods were used for the psychological breakdown of prisoners and forcing them to cooperate with the invaders.

In case of refusal of the victims, they were imprisoned to the cherries or crowded cameras, where they were forced to stand without food and water for a long time. Another method of torture was the imitation of shootings when the prisoners were put on the wall and shot near them.

On the basis of the evidence collected, the SBU has in absentia declared the suspicion of Kononenko, Andreev and Karyanov in committing war crimes according to the prior conspiracy of a group of persons.

At this time, the suspects are in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region. Ukrainian law enforcement officers carry out comprehensive measures for their search and holding accountable.
