The Palestinian Movement Hamas expressed his readiness to control the Gaza Sector of the Palestinian National Administration, which could be an important step towards completing hostilities in the region. According to the sources of Sky News Arabia, the militants sent an official letter to the Palestinian liberation organization, putting forward a single condition - gases should be employed in the new administration, and in the case of release, continue to receive salaries.
This decision was the result of negotiations in Cairo under heavy pressure of Egypt, which is trying to promote stabilization of the situation in the region. The US Special Representative from the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff, said that negotiations on the second stage of ceasefire and exchange of Israeli and Palestinian hostages will continue throughout this week. The Israeli delegation will also go to Cairo on February 17 for negotiations, said the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyhah. After meeting with Egyptian representatives, the delegation will receive instructions on steps to lay the end of the fighting and stabilize the situation in the Gaza sector.
During a joint press conference with Netanyaga on February 16, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Hamas should not remain a leadership in the Gaza sector. According to Rubio, the future gases should be in the hands of a peaceful and stable administration, which will be ready to cooperate with international partners and create conditions for a long peace in the region.
